EUTeens4Green – A new generation of youth ambassadors for an inclusive green transition
Launched in June, EUTeens4Green is an EU-funded project, formed of a partnership led by SERN, and the associations CEE BankWatch and Youth Environment Europe (YEE). EUTeens4Green will distribute grants to young people aged 15-24 years resident in territories covered by the Just Transition Fund (JTF) to implement climate-driven actions and advance the green transition in their community or region.
The consortium counts on the partners’ expertise in the youth, environment, and Just Transition topics, and relies on the collaboration of Generation Climate Europe (GCE), the largest climate coalition of youth-led networks at the European level, representing 381 national organizations across 46 countries in Europe.
We are now undertaking a consultation to reach out to the youth and environmental field stakeholders (grassroots associations, teens, and schools) to get a better understanding of the needs and expectations of youth across the different regions eligible for funding.
A think tank composed of a group of experts coming from the youth field or environmental organizations will share their insights to identify needs related to the youth field and help prepare the call for proposals that will be launched in September.
The selected projects will be funded for up to €10.000. Participants will receive support from local mentors along the implementation of the actions to ensure a smooth process.
The outcomes of the actions will lead to the provision of recommendations to the European Commission on youth participation in the Cohesion policy and their role in advancing the green transition.
EUTeens4Green will empower young people to take action in the green transition allowing youth-led actions to grow locally while contributing to better preparing local communities of the most affected regions by climate change for the challenges of the green transition.
Stay tuned!
