ARTeCHÓ featured in new EU Publication on Creative Europe Cooperation
We are pleased to share that ARTeCHÓ is featured in the new EU publication Tracing Constellations: Stories of Culture, Cooperation and Impact across Creative Europe Cooperation Projects (2021–2024).
Published by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the publication highlights 50 projects funded under the European Cooperation projects call of the Creative Europe Culture programme between 2021 and 2024.
The selected projects demonstrate how cultural cooperation contributes to key EU priorities, including the promotion of democratic values, economic growth in the cultural and creative sectors, youth involvement in culture and the development of new digital formats.
Featured under the “Digital Transformation” section, ARTeCHÓ – Art, Economy & Technology aims unleash the potential of the emerging arts ecosystem.
As the boundaries between art, technology, and economy continue to blur, the need for innovative and inclusive approaches rises, which is why ARTeCHÓ explored the dynamic intersection of blockchain, NFTs, and decentralised technologies within the creative sector. The project engaged emerging artists in experimenting with digital tools, enabling them to create works that bridge artistic practice with technological advancements. Through exhibitions, public learning activities, and policy dialogues, ARTeCHÓ introduced broad audiences to the creative possibilities of blockchain, offering new avenues for cultural expression and economic empowerment. It critically explored tools to support the growth of skills and awareness on Crypto Art, transform the art economy and foster new business initiatives, with a focus on copyright protection, new business models, and innovative approaches to the arts economy.
By critically examining the sustainability and governance of digital art, ARTeCHÓ aims to help artists and institutions navigate the complexities of the digital economy, fostering a responsible and inclusive creative ecosystem across Europe.
The initiative has been implemented by SERN as the lead partner and four other European organisations: Zaragoza City of Knowledge Foundation/Etopia, Meet Digital Center, Baltan Laboratories, and Frankfurt School Blockchain Center (FSBC).
