18th European Week of Regions and Cities We are going!
It’s with pride that SERN announces that it’ll participate in the European Week of Regions and Cities. Its goal is to address common challenges regarding EU regions and cities. It also analyses possible solutions, with contributions from political representatives, decision-makers, and scholars. This year the event will have its 18th edition, stretching over three weeks. These will focus on three topics: Green Europe; Cohesion and Cooperation; and Empowering Citizens.
SERN will participate with three projects:
- Innova-Fi
It will have a session on the importance of financial instruments for cohesion, and innovation. Also, an overlook of FI’s (financial instruments) at the European level will be provided. When doing so, speakers will explain what measures can be taken to maximize the instruments’ impact. To complement this, four case studies will be discussed (Portugal, Slovenia, Italy and Bulgaria). The session will take place Wednesday, the 14th October. More can be seen here.
- RegionArts
Virtual session on how Arts & ICT can boost innovation. It will include an overview of the main points in favor of such partnerships. This will be followed by an analysis of a case study, regarding RegionArts. The international panel will be composed by different experts. An example is Ana Fonseca, from Porto Global Hub, or Veronika Liebl from Ars Electronica. This session will happen Wednesday, the 14th October. For more info, check here.
- Start at Best
The project will have an exhibition stand, showcasing the importance of workplace innovation (WPI). Here, staff will show visitors some evidence-based workplace practices. Also, they’ll explain the practices’ benefits and impact on product development. It will provide visiting entrepreneurs with free WPI diagnostics for their businesses. Such will be complemented by advice on implementation. For more, check here.
