RAISE Project: Catalyzing Startup Growth and Innovation Across Europe
In the dynamic landscape of European startups, a transformative initiative has emerged to fuel innovation, foster growth, and connect regions. The RAISE project, an EU-funded endeavor, is taking the lead in reshaping the startup ecosystem. Implemented by a consortium of five organizations, RAISE is spearheaded by the Startup Europe Regions Network (SERN) and joined by The European Business Angels Network (EBAN), the European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA), the Foundation FUNDECYT Scientific and Technological Park of Extremadura (FUNDECYT-PCTEX), and the International Consortium of Research Staff Associations (ICoRSA).
At its core, RAISE is a visionary project with a clear mission: to establish a sustainable and integrated support framework that catalyzes the growth and scaling of startups across Europe. This support extends across all dimensions of a startup’s journey, from securing initial funding to providing research support, facilitating access to public incentives, and promoting internationalization. Ultimately, the ultimate aim is to nurture competitive business models, encourage unconventional collaborations, and harness innovative solutions from every corner of Europe.
On the other hand, what sets RAISE apart is its commitment to building a genuine EU startup ecosystem that transcends individual cities or regions. Instead, it seeks to create a cohesive network that links all these vibrant entrepreneurial hubs together. In doing so, RAISE is not only driving economic growth but also fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among European startups.
One of the key strategies employed by RAISE is the establishment of a joint agenda. This agenda serves as a catalyst for effective collaboration among the diverse players within the innovation ecosystem. This collaboration spans regional, national, and EU levels and encompasses a wide range of activities, from upskilling initiatives to research and innovation (R&I) programs and policies. It also includes capacity building, private investment, and access to public funding.
In essence, RAISE is igniting a transformation in the European startup landscape. It’s paving the way for startups to thrive, scale, and compete on a global stage. By fostering collaboration and innovation across regions, RAISE is creating a brighter future for startups, entrepreneurs, and the entire European startup ecosystem.
The RAISE project is not just about startups; it’s about raising the bar for European innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s a testament to the power of collective action and shared vision in shaping the future of startups in Europe and beyond. As RAISE continues to gain momentum, it’s clear that it’s not just a project; it’s a movement that is set to leave a lasting impact on the entrepreneurial landscape of Europe.
